Line of Events
When Airmail’s best pilot Henri Guillaumet disappears in the Andes, his best friend Antoine de Saint-Exupéry decides to go looking for him against the odds. The Little Prince was in every home, so the author’s story was eagerly awaited. The story tells of a time with his childhood friend Gillaumet and they worked in the mail between Argentina and Chile. So far so good. They are childhood friends and the same age. Now here’s the problem, as they got older, the age difference is almost 20 years. So here’s my criticism. Why do they cast Cassal Age 57 to play a 29 year old? Saint Ex should be 30, which a 41 year old still plays ok. Diane Krueger has been cast as Cassal’s age. Doesn’t the French film industry have young actors? So the choice of actors, even though the good actors were bad. The images were great, but the scenes on the plane were not realistic!
